There are some shops that are apprehensive about working on Corvettes, specially the newer ones. It could be the composite materials used in the vehicle that make working on them a bit more challenging, or the fact that Corvette owners are passionate about their vehicles and know what they want. We here at Pro Car Audio, however, are always excited to hear from them! We have extensive experience on Vettes and know how to get them sounding as good as they look and drive.
On this specific day, we had a Baylor student's coupe we were to outfit with some low end bass. The C7 coupe has a targa top that stores in the cargo area so the components needed to ensure that functionality was fully retained. A pre-fabricated enclosure housing two Focal Access sub-woofers was used. This enclosure is vinyl wrapped and features an embossed logo and LED trim rings around the sub-woofer for an aggressive yet tasteful look.
Power for the Focals came from a 600 watt amplifier that not only works perfectly with these subs but also fits in its chosen spot. The amplifier and the integration component used to integrate to the Corvette's Bose factory sound system were both skillfully fit into the small 10"x10" storage compartment in the trunk. This ensures the remaining usable space in the trunk is retained.
To provide quick access to the bass level, we installed an adjustable knob. This vehicle is gorgeous on the inside and any modification we made to it was either going to blend in or be stealthy. Both the bass level adjuster and the switch for the enclosure LED lights was installed behind the factory sliding screen providing easy access from the drivers seat.
After the installation was complete, the system was carefully tuned with specific equipment to make sure the system sounded the best it could. The Baylor bear and his family were stoked at pickup! We should be seeing this Corvette again for other upgrades.
